Users on your live stream scope can interact with you thru hearts & comments when you are live on the scope. This is a new social media app that is really taking off. Once you title your stream, musicians can set up a scope within in minutes on the app and literally be performing in front of live viewers. Our first night of streaming this show, we had over 300 live views and gained 40 new followers. Imagine playing to that many people and making that many fans in one night. The periscope app is a great tool for musicians looking to make new fans.

What I really love about this app is the focus on live streaming direct from your phone. When I downloaded this app, I was immediately fascinated by the concept of live streaming my music performances to a new market. Ever since the FACEBOOK ALGORITHM change in early 2015, I wondered if artists would have a better tool to market themselves. Now you can do it right from your living room and still reach a good amount of people.

 

Saving Your Streams

Another Cool Feature on this App is the ability to save your video streams in MP4 format to your phone. I love this because if I have some great footage to share, I could chop the clips up for Instagram sharing, YouTube uploads or I could use the audio for demo’s. This app will free up a lot of time. Everything can be done from your phone.

It was announced that Periscope had surpassed 10 million accounts, just four months after it was launched. It was noted that over 40 years of video was being watched per day. On December 9, 2015, Apple named Periscope as the iPhone App of the Year. Periscope wasrecently featured on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" with Kayvon Beykpour as a guest on December 18, 2015. In addition to sharing the inspiration for Periscope, its sale history included meeting Periscope's mission, which was to get it into as many hands as possible, thus Twitter. Beykpour gave Colbert a one-on-one tutorial, which was recorded live then edited for its showing three hours later.
